June Celebrates Soul Food

Soul food is all about enhancing the taste of the main ingredient. There are tasty and aromatic spices used, but the spices are mild in flavor and do not take over the flavor of the main ingredient.

Country Smothered Chicken

(seared bone-in chicken in an aromatic, buttery cream sauce)

Chicken fried steak w/ white gravy

(breaded thin cut steak pan fried to perfection and doused with creamy gravy)

Blackened cat fish

(fresh cat fish pan seared with a blend of Cajun spices)

Southern Fried okra

(crispy,and perfectly seasoned nuggets of delight)

Red beans and rice

(stewed for hours with ham hock will cure whatever ails you)

Buttermilk biscuits

(delicious served with or without sawmills sausage gravy)

Assorted southern pies

(pecan, apple, peach and sweet potato just to mention a few)
